Continuing the Legacy of AACF
Continuing the Legacy: I Am AACF
2017 - 2018 Annual Report
In our 2017-18 fiscal year, the African-American Community Fund (AACF) Advisory Board once again exceeded its commitment to promote philanthropy and improve the physical, economic, social and educational conditions that affect the quality of life of African Americans in the Miami Valley. We celebrated AACF’s Silver Anniversary with more than 300 donors, supporters and community leaders; we awarded more than $14K in grants and $22K in scholarships, as well as and opened 17 new current and deferred funds.
We could not have done this without the outpouring of generosity from our donors. Together, we have continued the legacy that John E. Moore, Sr., and Lloyd E. Lewis, Jr., envisioned, and we have exceeded their dream by accumulating more than $6.8M in assets and awarding over $4.6M in grants in our 26 years of existence!
Last year, we were honored to memorialize the legacy of these great men by unveiling the John E. Moore, Sr., and Lloyd E. Lewis, Jr., Community Impact Fund. Thanks to our supporters, this fund has had a great start and proceeds already have been distributed to help those helping others. (Make a gift to this fund.)
The Advisory Board is committed to “Continuing the Legacy” that was established by our founders, and they are excited to continue to offer donors an opportunity to create a legacy that will benefit the community for many generations.
