I Am AACF. One Community Building Lives
2016 - 2017 Annual Report
It has been 25 years since our founders introduced the groundbreaking model of the African-American Community Fund (AACF) to The Dayton Foundation. As the Advisory Board reflected on this significant milestone, we realized that the words of our late co-founder, Lloyd E. Lewis Jr., still rings true today, “We are a people from all over the map, churches, nonprofit organizations and individuals. AACF is an idea whose time has come. I’m a believer that we African-Americans can do this ourselves.” With these words in mind, we were inspired to make this year’s theme, “I Am AACF. One Community, Building Lives.”
Since 1992, we have exceeded the goals of our founders, and we couldn’t have done it without you – our donors, community, grantees and scholarship recipients. You are AACF - a community of individuals working together to make Greater Dayton and the African-American community stronger for the next generation.
On behalf of the AACF Advisory Board, we sincerely thank everyone who has donated, opened a fund, served on the board or contributed in any way to this great organization over the last 25 years. We are excited about the opportunities ahead of us in the next 25!
